Hello,
I'm Harold Gilbert TPC # 1119 and I'm hoping that someone can help me. Most of my collection is stored in the 3 ring 8 1/2" x 11" post card holders that George Wegg Ltd used to sell. Since they have gone out of business I'm hoping that someone can tell me where I can purchase these pages anymore? I do know of someone else that is in need of the same pages and between the 2 of us we or by myself I would even buy a 100 pages if a full box was required. If anybody has any ideas please respond by email. haroldg@isp.ca

Thanks In Advance

I have come into an album of my grandfather's. He was in the 10th Grenadiers, now the Royal Regiment. There are several postcards of the regiment and comments about the Bisley. I'm not sure what to do with them.

I have a postcard that I can't identify. It is postmarked Barrie 1945 and looks to be a real photo. On the front left corner looks like Doanlea Beach or Poanlea beach. It was sent to an address in Stamford Ontario. I can't find any information. I can email a scan of it to anyone that can help. Thanks,

Hello Anne,
Not sure what to tell you. As with all vintage items, the value is what someone is willing to pay. Having said that, my opinion is that your card would command a better price in the 'sports collectibles' market. Certainly there are postcard collectors who have a collecting interest of 'sports' and/or 'famous people', but I think that your item would be a more obscure interest among postcard collectors. Vintage postcards tend to retail in the range of $4.00 to $100.00 with the higher prices being paid for 'real photo postcards' from the early 1900s that are unique views such as disasters, main streets in known small villages, known personalities and such. If your card is a RPPC and can be authenticated as having a genuine signature, I suppose there might be a buyer at the higher end of the range. Of course a dealer would pay less as they would want to make their mark-up. If you were thinking of selling it, I'd suggest EBay in the sports collectibles category.
